Effects of orthopaedic treatments upon 3D radiologic morphologies and equilibrated postures in adolescent idiopathic scoliosis

چکیده
Material and method Geometric structures of spinal curves of scoliotic patients have been identified. They show plane regions where spinal curves are purely flexed. These regions are linked together by zones of connection, where abduction and axial rotation components, are concentrated. Spine and pelvis of each patient radiographed in upstanding may be synthetized by two rows of indices: one row describing the morphology, the second one illustrating the postural stability. The present study is dedicated to effects upon 3D back morphology and postural stability of orthopaedic treatments exerted to a same patient.

Comparison of Respiratory Muscle Electromyography between Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis and Healthy Subjects
Purpose: Scoliosis is one of the most common spinal deformities that affect chest wall mechanics. Scoliosis results in ventilator disorders and respiratory muscle weakness. However, the mechanism of these disorders is still unknown. The main objective of this study was to identify the intensity of respiratory muscles activity in patients with idiopathic scoliosis compare with healthy indi...
متن کاملEvaluation of Patient Outcome and Satisfaction after Surgical Treatment of Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis Using Scoliosis Research Society-30
Background: Adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) may lead to physical and mental problems. It also can adversely affect patient satisfaction and the quality of life. In this study, we assessed the outcomes and satisfaction rate after surgical treatment of AIS using scoliosis research society-30 questionnaire (SRS-30). Methods: We enrolled 135 patients with AIS undergoing corrective surgery...
متن کاملEffect of bracing or surgical treatments on balance control in idiopathic scoliosis: three case studies.
Scoliosis is the most frequent spinal deformity among adolescents. In 80 % of cases, it is defined as idiopathic as no individual cause has been identified. However, several factors linked to Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis (AIS) have been identified and are under investigation. One of these factors is neurological dysfunction. Increase in body sway has been observed either during or following ...
متن کاملThe Effectiveness of Schroth vs. SEAS Exercise Methods for Correcting Idiopathic Scoliosis in Adolescent: A Systematic Review
Purpose: Adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) is the most common type of scoliosis and the most complex deformity of the spine. The promising results of Schroth and Scientific Exercise Approach to Scoliosis (SEAS), among other methods of exercise therapy, have attracted the attention of many researchers and therapists. However, there is still vague evidence of their effectiveness and the super...
متن کاملEffect of a Long-Term Corrective Exercises With Using Brace on Cobb Angle and Postural Control of a Girl With Adolescence Idiopathic Scoliosis
Purpose: Scoliosis is a three-dimensional deformity of the spine in which the resulting imbalance accompanied by the changes in muscle and nervous components can harm the postural control. Various treatments have been suggested so far to correct scoliosis, in which using corrective exercises along with brace are essential to limit the growing curvature, improve spine stability and postural cont...
